Sugarless Mango-Lime Sorbet

A friend texted me a rather vague recipe for this dessert.  It is delicious and uses no sugar. It is sweet enough for me, but if you’d like a sweeter dessert, you can add a bit of Stevia. Easy peasy.

Sugarless Mango-Lime Sorbet

  • 2-3 large ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed ( you may use frozen mangoes from your grocer’s freezer, but be careful that they are fully ripe. They aren’t always.)
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 2-3 tablespoons warm water
  • Optional. 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Stevia, if you’d like a sweeter sorbet. I personally think it is fine without. Dan disagrees.

For fresh mangoes, spread out pieces on a cookie sheet. Place in freezer until frozen solid. Put frozen mangoes in food processor (a good blender will work too). Process until broken up in to very small pieces. Add lime and warm water. Blend again until smooth.  spread out in the bottom of a covered container and freeze.  Enjoy.
